Also known as 'Red Thyme'. This oil is rather sweet, warm and strongly herbal fragrance.
Distillation of the herb/flowers and leaves.

The Romans used Thyme to dispel melancholy and promote bravery. Strengths the nerves and aids in concentration. Revives low spirits and combats exhaustion.

Caution: Thyme contains phenols which will irritate the mucous membrane and cause dermal irritation and may cause sensitization. Should NOT be used by anyone with high blood pressure.
 
There are up to seven (7) different chemotypes of Thyme, Thymus vulgaris, the most common being:
* thymol type
* linalool type
* carvacrol type
* geraniol type
 
Historical & Tranditional Uses:
Orginates from the Greek word thymon, meaning 'to fumigate'.
The Greed word thumus meaning ' courage' as the plant was associated with bravery.
